What Is a GMO?
Boulder County currently allows the planting of GMO corn on publicly owned Open Space and are writing policy to allow more GMO crops on public land.

Boulder is the Natural Foods Epicenter of America. The Brand of Boulder elicits health, organics, entrepreneurship, safety and sustainability. To that end, the tax payers eagerly agreed to a tax hike to purchase more Open Space to enhance that lifestyle. They purchased 25,000 acres of farmable land and leased it back to the farmers to manage on behalf of Open Space.
Currently, the Boulder County Commission is developing a policy to determine if they will risk the food safety and health of 300,000 citizens by allowing GMO’s to be grown on the Croplands you and I own. This is not about private farming, this is about farming on public lands. There is more to know about the local Boulder County issue as well as the International outcry about GMO’s. Many countries outlaw them. Hungary recently burned all GMO crops in their country. We aren’t asking to go that far.
We are asking for a policy that states:
The planting and growing of GMO crops on Boulder County owned land is prohibited.
